Since receiving our last email, you know it’s #mentalhealthawarenessmonth! We know you’re working hard to establish and/or maintain a ready and resilient workforce while trying to maintain your own sense of health and well-being. Remember that online mental health training and live wellness training contribute to a thriving and successful workplace that flourishes.

Strategies to Elevate Mental Health Programs
Our goal is to give you strategies to elevate your mental health and wellness programs and/or benefits to promote awareness and create action to develop happy and healthy employees, ultimately enhancing their experience in the workplace.
The practice of healthy leadership will have positive outcomes, having mutual benefits for both employee and employer. Here are three ways you can consider boosting your wellness offerings to employees throughout the year:
Leverage Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)
- While many employers stand proud that they have an EAP program, it’s important to know that according to one nation-wide review, 98% of medium to large organizations in the US have an employee assistance program, yet the utilization rates are less than 4% each year. That said, have your EAP program provide a lunch and learn mental health training to your employees.
Promote Storytelling on Mental Health
- Promote Storytelling. Create a workforce that normalizes conversations on mental health by encouraging individuals to share their lived experience. Leaders can and should take the lead on this, and it’s ok for leaders to show some vulnerability in mental health online development.
Offer Mental Health Days
- Mental Health Days – At one point or another, we have all taken a mental health day. We encourage companies to offer an additional day off to provide their employees with a mental health day. This is one unique way of showing your employees that your organization believes #mentalhealthmatters.
Benefits of Prioritizing Employee Well-being
By elevating mental health and wellness programs/benefits, employers can promote a positive workplace culture that prioritizes employee well-being. This can lead to improved productivity, employee retention, and a healthier corporate culture for mental health and wellness training where people can achieve their potential.
